PSR (Parish School of Religion) is the religious education program for students in kindergarten through 8th grade, and includes sacramental preparation for a student's first Reconciliation, Eucharist (2nd grade) and Confirmation (8th grade).
Children of families registered in the parish are welcomed and encouraged to participate in any of our classes. If your family is registered in another parish, your pastor has a canonical responsibility for your children's faith formation, and we will need a note or letter of "delegation" from him of that responsibility.
Regular PSR classes are offered on Monday evenings from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM, usually beginning the Monday after Labor Day and concluding the Monday before Memorial Day.
If you are registering after August 21, 2018 and have not received the parent information sent on that date,
|Registration, Books, Supply Fee (per child, due before June 30th)||$35.00|
|Out of Parish Fee (with letter from current pastor)||$50.00|
|Late Registration Fee (after June 30th)||$10.00|
|Three or more children||$225.00|
Please include complete the registration/supply fee with the registration form. In August, please submit complete tuition payment. Make checks payable to Incarnate Word Parish. If these fees are a financial burden, please contact Laura Flanagan at 576-5366 ext. 26, or Fr. Schroeder.
The safety and security of the program is greatly aided by parents monitoring the upstairs and downstairs hallway during the class period. If this is something with which you are able to help, time slots are available below:
Follow our events in faith formation on Instagram: @incarnatewordre
If you download the MyParish app, there is a discussion group for PSR families. Feel free to organize via the group.
Below is our Google Calendar, which you are welcome to share to your own personal Google Calendar. However, the PDF file above has more complete information about the happenings during each session. This is merely meant to aid as a quick reference for whether we do or do not have class on a given night.
Here is the Safe Touch curriculum, required by the Archdiocese to be presented in the first quarter of the PSR year. Parents are welcome to preview the materials for themselves. If you request an Opt-Out form from Mrs. Flanagan, a parent curriculum will be provided so that you can cover this material at home.
