The Jonah Prayer Ministry is a prayer ministry based at the parish level. Praying over each other is an excellent way to affirm each other's faith as a community, to let the Holy Spirit heal our hurts and to open our eyes to being thankful for the truth and love in every situation that we experience.
Jonah Prayer Ministers are people like yourself who are approved by the pastor for this ministry. Ministry members feel the call to pray for others or desire to use their spiritual gifts of prayer given to them by the Holy Spirit. After training, Jonah Prayer ministers pray in small groups with individuals who request prayer support, maintaning confidence in all matters. Jonah Prayer Ministers are available between the 10:30am & 12:15pm Masses on the first Sunday of each month. They will be by the Mary Statue in Church. In summary, Jonah Prayer Ministry is another beautiful way that the Holy Spirit can have profound direct spiritual impact both in the parish community and in personal lives. Jonah Prayer Ministry is about being present to fellow parishioners through prayer and praying with expectant faith knowing God brings about healing, growth and transformation. There is an Archdiocesan workshop to train prayer ministers for ministry in their parishes

This ministry provides emotional and spiritual support to adult parishioners who have lost loved ones.
The support starts 2-3 weeks after the funeral. A call is made to next of kin to assure the family that they are in our prayers. An initial mailing is sent which includes a letter welcoming them to the Grief Support Group, a booklet called "Death is only a Horizon", and some information on the grieving process. Then once a month, for the next ten months, more information on the grieving process, Bible verses, and poetry are sent to the family.
The Grief Support Ministry also facilitates a Seasons of Hope group. Two 6-week sessions promote hope and healing for the next of kin after the loss of loved ones. The program includes spiritual reflection, faith sharing, fellowship, and home activities.
The first Saturday in November, the Ministry coordinates a Mass of Remembrance. All parishioners are invited to remember their deceased loved ones. Their names are read at Mass and next of kin are offered a candle to use at home to remember their loved one throughout the year.

Is there hope for all who are away from the church? All are invited to attend the "Companions of the Lost and Found Sheep" prayer service the first Saturday of the month immediately following 8:30 am Mass. You will be an instrument in this mission to help find lost souls who are so precious to God’s Sacred Heart but so lost in the lies and darkness of the world. The group has already seen results – one report of a teenage grandchild signing up for RCIA. Praise God!
