Anointing of the Sick

In the revised rite of the Church, Anointing of the Sick may be administered to a Catholic prior to a special operation, in the event of a serious illness, or because of the immediate possibility of death. The sacrament may be received in Church, in the home, at the hospital, or wherever circumstances dictate. Catholic hospitals usually offer this sacrament to all who desire it.
