When can a child return to school after an illness?

A child must be free of fever for 24 hours.  There must be no history of vomiting in 24 hours. In some instances, a physician must decide when it is appropriate for a child to return to school.

Can a child take cough drops at school?

Cough drops are considered a medication.  Written permission from the parent/guardian is necessary as well as a doctor's order.  They must be kept in the nurse's office and dispensed by the nurse.

What is required for a child to take medication at school?

Medication must be in the original container.  Written parental permission and a doctor's order is required.  A current pharmacy label with doctor's instructions can serve as an order.
