STREP THROAT INFORMATION:

If you suspect that your child may have strep throat, please keep him/her home from school until he/she is evaluated by your physician. The signs to watch for are:  sore throat, headache, fever, stomachache, swollen/tender glands, white or yellow patches on tonsils, or any combination of these signs.

With the diagnosis of strep throat, your child is not to return to school until he/she has been on an antibiotic for at least 24 hours and is fever free. By keeping your child home he/she will get the necessary rest to recover, and it will prevent other students and staff from becoming ill.

Please reinforce with your child the importance of hand washing and cough etiquette.  Strep throat is primarily spread from person to person through coughing and sneezing.  Measures such as hand washing and covering one's mouth when coughing/sneezing (coughing into ones upper arm) will help reduce the spread of germs.
