Knights of Columbus
This is
a fraternal organization that meets monthly opened to all practicing
Catholic men. The mission of members is
to take a leadership role in a wide variety of ministries that serve
both the Church and community. Most of the work is charitable. Those
who belong give freely of their time to the Church and community.

We are
one of nearly 13,000 councils that comprise this Catholic organization.
Since the Knights of Columbus was founded over 120 years ago in New
Haven, Connecticut, it has grown into an order with over 1.7 million
members around the world that donates millions of dollars and volunteers
hours to charitable and church causes.

Q:
Who belongs to the Knights of Columbus?
- Council
9981, our parish's council, is made up on 150 men of many ages and
backgrounds in the parish. The international organization is made
of over 1.7
million
members in many countries. The international organization's website

and has information about the origin and mission of the Knights of
Columbus.
Q: What
does the local council do?
- We hold
a golf tournament, a Tootsie Roll drive, and Lenten fish fries to
raise funds for our many charitable endeavors. Some 20 organizations
benefit from the funds generated as a result of these activities.
We also pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
We provide volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and for social activities
for the mentally handicapped. We hold free throw contests, essay
contests, and poster contests for children. We clean up trash along
Olive Boulevard. We support the pro-life cause. We conduct three
blood drives each year.
If all that wasn't enough, we get together for 5th Sunday breakfasts,
a springtime family picnic, and brunches at Christmas and Valentine's
Day.
Keep in mind that not all Knights are involved in all activities.
You can get as involved as your time and interests allow.

regularly the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
