The mission of IW JobSearch is to help with many of the problems and opportunities created by job loss.

We will help with the mechanics of your search but the greatest benefit will be seeking God's comfort and direction during your search. Meetings are open to all who have lost a job, face an imminent job loss or are underemployed - parishioners and non-parishioners alike.

Q: How can the Job Search Ministry help me with my job search?

• First we can help spiritually. The loss of a job creates many problems that God can help with. It also creates an opportunity to learn more about what God wants us to do with our lives. We suggest ways to turn your search over to God - to ask God to be a part of your search. We can even provide a spiritual mentor.
• We also help with the mechanics of your job search
• Winning Job Search Techniques - includes a complete ten chapter job search manual that leads you step by step through the job search maze. There are several exercises that point you in the right direction and help keep you on track.
• We also provide other resources for your search including help with your resume and interviewing skills. We can also provide a one-on-one job search mentor. We have over 80 job search books, cassettes and tapes in a mobile library that is open before and after each meeting.
• We can also provide contact information for other organizations that can help you, including programs at other parishes (the Catholic Employment Network), secular programs, networking meeting calendars and other contacts.

Q: When do you meet?

• Meetings are the heart of our ministry - they have benefited many members. Even members who have the advantage of corporate sponsored outplacement have told us that they gain much from our meetings. We generally meet the first and third Thursdays of the month at 7:30 PM in the Watson Room.

Q: How can I Volunteer?

• We have many Volunteers who provide several important functions including helping with the meetings, helping with resumes, helping with interview preparation, being spiritual mentors or job search mentors, updating the website, coordinating special events and many more activities.
