Disaster Relief for Haiti-A Message from Fr. VowelsI think I have finally run out of adjectives to describe your generosity. With little advance notice, you reached into your hearts to help the people of Haiti as they struggle to recover from the devastating earthquake in the city of Port au Prince. The second collection we took up last Sunday totaled $24,312.32 . The children in the parish school also took up a collection that totaled $2,670.27. These both are beyond description for me. The money and any that may continue to come in will be forwarded immediately to the Archdiocese so that they can get it quickly to Catholic Relief Services. (You may have noticed in the news that Catholic Relief Services is one of the charities that is always listed as effective and reliable.) I hope that every time you watch the news or read a newspaper article about the rescue of another survivor in Haiti, or about the medical care and food being provided to the survivors, you will know that part of that is possible because of you!
