From Fr. Blessing:

“I just turned 47 years old and have been ordained for 5 years.  I grew up in Perryville, Missouri and graduated college in 1985 from Southeast Missouri State University with a BS in Mathematics.  I worked in collections for Mark Twain Bank for over 8 years in St. Louis prior to entering the seminary.  I am one of 8 children.  My father, who is 83 years old, still lives in Perryville.  My siblings all reside in the Perryville, Cape Girardeau, and St. Louis area, except for one brother who lives in the Philippines. I have 13 nieces and 5 nephews, ranging from the ages of infant to 24 years.  My mother died 4 years ago on the one year anniversary of my priesthood ordination.  My parish assignments consist of one year at St. Simon the Apostle in South County while I was a Deacon and five years at St. Alban Roe as a priest.  Incarnate Word is my second assignment as a priest.  I like to play Golf and visit friends on my days off.  I am a sports fan, mostly baseball and football.  I used to be a big fantasy football nut, but gave it up when the demands on time in the seminary would not allow for it.  I am most grateful to God for calling me to the priesthood.  These have truly been the best years of my life.  My greatest joys are celebrating Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  I look forward to developing a great relationship with Incarnate Word Parish as I serve the people here.”
