Kudos:- Incarnate Word grade school kids donated over 5,000 gently used books to St. Augustine’s Parish in Wellston during Catholic Schools Week in January
- Dozens of bags of gently used clothes and blankets were donated by parishioners to Covenant House Missouri during the “Do One Thing” for Valentines Day drive.
- The Jr. High students of Incarnate Word School collected socks at their “Sock-Hop” that were donated to the runaway teens that are served by Covenant House Missouri.
- The Light ‘em Up concert by Lifeteen on February 15 was an acoustic concert by Adam Bitter. Proceeds from the concert benefitted the Naruzarri Catholic parish in Southern Uganda. The parish campus includes the church, rectory, convent, elementary and the school including dormitories. The parish has no electricity. This event raised awareness of our Catholic brothers & sisters in Africa, as well as raising money for the purchase of solar panels for electricity. Both the concert and LifeTeen Mass that evening were done by candlelight.
- The Ladies Auxiliary organized a collection of cell phones with their chargers to give to Women’s Place, a drop-in shelter for abused women in Maplewood. These phones are refurbished and any identifying information is removed. They’ll then be given to women in abusive situations for emergency use.
- Thanks to the volunteers who help each month at the Felice Cuores dance for mentally handicapped adults. There were over 200 guests at the February dance. Dances are held at St Clare of Assisi School, 12642 Clayton Road from 7:00pm-10:00pm.
- The Knights of Columbus October 2008 tootsie roll drive proceeds benefitted:
Children’s Home Society 43500 United Services for Handicapped Children $1750 Council for extended Care of Mentally retarded Citizens $4785.49 - Last year (2008) 674 donors donated blood at the Incarnate Word Parish Blood drives.
- The Ladies Auxiliary made a $1,000 donation to St. Mary's teen pregnancy clinic in Clayton and a $1,000 donation to Circle of Concern in Valley Park in April 2009.
