St. Gerard’s League Ministry Q and A | Print |
Q:  Who is St. Gerard?

  • St. Gerard is the Patron Saint of Mothers.  His feast day is October 16.

Q:  How did St. Gerard League start?

  • The St. Gerard League started in the spring in 2002.  The ministry was started by Dotty Reynolds, with the approval of Bishop Hermann, as she had previously started a similar ministry at her parish in Wisconsin.  This was a direct result of our Parish “Reaching In’ to help those in our midst.

Q:  How do I receive meals?

  • Simply place a call to one of the ministry heads on our page.  We do ask that you are a registered parishioner of IW.  The St. Gerard League typically provides 12 meals for your family; each prepared and delivered by your fellow parish family!

Q:  I love to cook!  How do I help?

  • Simply call one of the ministry heads.  If you sign up to help, you are normally only called once every 2 months or so.  Most cooks prepare dinner:  a main dish, a side or two, and maybe fruit or dessert.  It’s up to you!  Be creative!
