Big Sister Program |
|
|
Chairperson shall assign a contact for each new family registered for the upcoming school year. Volunteers shall contact new family 2 weeks before school starts and communicate with them during the first month of school to help answer any questions that may occur. Chair and volunteers will attend the Welcoming Open House for New Families on September 12, 2009. |

Book Fair |
|
|
Chairperson shall assist the librarian/staff in coordinating the annual Scholastic Book Fair. Volunteers shall assist the chair and librarian in a variety of ways. You may choose to sign up for Planning, Labor (setup/breakdown), and/or Shift Workers. |
|
|

|

|
|
Box Tops For Education |
|
|
Shall assist in the collection of General Mills box tops and Campbells labels for the school. |
|
|
|
|
|
Catholic Schools Week |
|
|
Shall assist in the planning and coordination of CSW activities for one week in January, including working with the principal, teachers, students and families in these activities. Teacher and student appreciation days are celebrated during this week. Budget for this committee is subject to CPTO approval. This does not include Open House coordination, which is managed by the Board of Education. |

Classroom Monitor |
|
|
Shall, on occasion, monitor a classroom for a short period while a teacher is attending an in-house seminar or other activity. Teaching is not required. The teacher will leave instructions and work for the students. |
|
|
|
|
|
Cupcake Sales |
|
|
Shall assist in managing the monthly cupcake sales, with each grade level being responsible for a different month. The Chair shall send monthly reminder notices to the grades responsible for the sale each month. |
|
|
|
|
|
Ditto/Laminating Committee |
|
|
Shall assist in the copying of papers, tests and other educational supplements as requested by the teachers. This includes laminating poster, room decorations, etc. as requested by the teachers. Someone from this committee will check the office daily to complete these requests. Large projects that require hole punching, collating, binding, etc… will be sent out to a printer. |
|

End-of-Year School Picnic (May 2011) |
|
|
Shall help coordinate the school picnic which is held on the last day of school. The CPTO must approve the location, date and possible costs. The budget is subject to CPTO approval. |

|
|
Field Day |
|
|
Chair helps plan activities and the date of the Field Day held in May with the P.E. teacher. Volunteers will be needed the day of Field Day to help with the games and activities. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Friday Folder Assembly |
|
|
Shall put school information and flyers in students' Friday Folders on Friday afternoons. Volunteers usually work once or twice per month. |
|
|
|
|
|
Fundraiser |
|
|
IW Weekly Winner's Draw will sell raffle tickets for a drawing held each Monday of the school year. Chairperson will organize all aspects of the fundraiser with a committee. Committee volunteers will organize ticket distribution/money collection, marketing of sale, weekly drawings, prizes, and other details of the fundraiser. |
|
|
|

|
Health Room Screening Aide |
|
|
Shall assist the school nurse with two screenings: hearing/vision screening and scoliosis screening. Each session only takes a few hours in the morning, and involves bringing the kids to and from the screenings. Volunteers will NOT be performing the screenings. |
|

Kindergarten Ice Cream Social (August 2011) |
|
|
Shall assist with the summer social at Millennium Park in Creve Coeur for new kindergarten students and their families. This is a brief gathering where each new student meets his/her assigned teacher and the other students in their class. You will help to supply ice cream and drinks for the event. The budget for this committee is subject to CPTO approval. |

Kindergarten Screening |
|
|
Chair shall work with Kindergarten teachers to schedule screening/conference times for incoming kindergarteners for the 2010/11 school year. Volunteers welcome new students and parents and assist them in check in during screening sessions. |

|
|
|
|
Library Volunteer |
|
|
The Chair shall develop the volunteer schedule and is the contact person for the volunteers. Volunteers assist in checking books in and out as well as reshelving them. They also assist the Librarian in helping patrons locate books, special projects, and end of the year inventory. No experience is necessary. |
|
|
|
|
|
Lunchroom Duty Substitute |
|
|
Chair shall create the lunchroom schedule during the summer for the upcoming year, using information supplied by the school office. Volunteers shall substitute for an assigned volunteer for lunchroom duty, and will receive $20.00/day from parent or family member for whom they substitute. |
|
|
|
|
|
Motor Perception K-2 |
|
|
Chair shall schedule volunteers for Motor Perception Program (one hour sessions) in Fall and Spring sessions. Volunteers shall assist P.E. teacher with Motor Perception during gym classes. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Music Aide |
|
|
Shall assist the music teacher in preparing performances. |
|
|
|
|
|
New Family Information Night 2011 |
|
|
Chair shall coordinate an evening meeting in April/May to distribute school information to new families enrolled for the 2010-2011 school year at Incarnate Word. Speakers will include Mr. Welling and a CPTO Officer. Chair or volunteers provide name tags and snacks for the meeting, and greet new families at the meeting. |
|

Room Mother |
|
|
Shall coordinate three classroom parties (Halloween, Christmas and Valentines/Mardi Gras) and deliver teacher/aide birthday lunch for grades K-5. For grades 6-8, volunteers shall coordinate service project during party time to include snack & drink. We hope to have two room mothers per grade. |
|
|
|
|

Room Mother Coordinator (This person oversees all room mothers) |
|
|
Shall coordinate all room mothers for school parties and teacher/aide birthdays. Shall assemble a list of those who check the Room Mother box on this form. There are typically two room mothers chosen for each teacher. If more than two volunteers sign up for the same class, names will be drawn from a hat. This person will coordinate party dates/times with the principal and administrative assistant; shall collect and distribute party/birthday monies collected from school families (done at training meeting); shall conduct a training meeting for Room Mothers early in the school year. The principal will work with the agenda prior to the training meeting. The room mother coordinator will send out reminders to room mothers to turn in names of party volunteers to office at least one week prior to each party. |

School Pictures |
|
|
Shall coordinate the date for individual & class pictures with photography studio and school, distribute order forms and coordinate the date for picture retakes. |
|
|
|
|
|
Sibling Sitters for Class Parties |
|
|
Shall be assigned to supervise 7th and 8th graders that will work with you to entertain and babysit preschool siblings of students while the classroom parties are being attended by other volunteer parents. You will NOT be assigned during the party that you sign up for in your child’s class. There will be at least two adult supervising at each session. This is a great way to see who might be a good babysitter. |

Speech Team for Grades 5-8 |
|
|
Shall assist students in an after school program that prepares them for the Bellarmine Speech Meets that are held three times a year. Budget for this committee is subject to CPTO approval. |

Teachers’ Meeting Lunches and Dinner for the November Conferences |
|
|
Shall assist in the providing of lunches for monthly teachers’ meetings and the conference dinner. This consists of preparing menu items for the meals 2-3 times per school year. The budget for this committee is subject to CPTO approval. |

|
|
|
Trivia Night |
|
|
Chair shall coordinate date and theme for this event, recruiting emcee, overseeing decorations, and planning details for the night. Volunteeers help with planning the event in various capacities (raffle items procurement, decoration design & creation, planning schedule of events, etc.). Volunteers working that night may be hosts, labor for setup/breakdown, raffle ticket sellers, etc. |

Uniform Coordinator |
|
|
Shall coordinate the date for uniform fittings with Just Me Apparel and the school office. Shall reserve the Lower Church Hall for the fitting date and coordinate the August delivery date and time with Just Me Apparel. Shall handle the distribution of uniforms to parents (One weekend in August after masses). Shall coordinate the resale of used uniforms, as well as collection of unwanted and unclaimed uniforms. |

Chair shall organize the Welcoming Social at the beginning of the school year for new school families. Volunteers will help with the event in planning or running the event. The budget for this committee is subject to CPTO approval. |
