"Step by Step"--Continuing Faith Formation
“Step by Step”: A slow journey through the Catechism [PLUS Catholic Q&A]
[Especially geared for brand-new Catholics as well as ALL Catholics seeking a refresher on the Catholic faith]

Beginning 7 p.m. Monday, November 3, continuing on subsequent first Mondays throughout the year.

The simple plan for “Step by Step” is to WALK (not run) through the Catechism by using the question-and-answer-format Compendium to the Catechism, which is a “thinner” and easier-to-use book that covers the full content of the big, thick “Catechism of the Catholic Church”. If you have become Catholic recently through RCIA, this is THE next stop along the way, designed to foster an ongoing interest and formation in the faith through the simplest means possible—picking up the Compendium to the Catechism, starting at the beginning, and walking and talking our way through it from session to session (each of these sessions will last only an hour). There is no rush and no deadline—and no need to make EVERY session every month if you can’t. Just come when you can. But—do come!

PLUS, after the hourlong “walkthrough,” we stop and throw the rest of the time back to YOU! That’s right, we’ll answer all your Catholic questions—whatever the topic—each first Monday of the month after our “Step by Step” offering.

Buckle Up—

C’mon, Let’s Go!

Adult Faith Fall Season Is Practically Here!

For those who might not have known, things have be a wee bit busy at the Russell house lately—our newest baby, Isaac Robert, was born September 19, pretty much on time and on schedule (for a change)!

Because of the impending baby arrival in September, the full-blown “season” of adult faith offerings, which usually begins sometime in September, was shifted forward into this month—and here we are. RCIA began Sunday (September 28), the Men’s CRHP Retreat is close at hand (October 11-12), Bible Study is gearing up again (October 15), a presentation by newly “minted” Msgr. Eugene Morris on discerning God’s will in our lives comes later this month (October 30--stay tuned for more info on this), and the first of an ongoing first-Monday-of-the-month faith enrichment series, called “Step by Step,” begins November 3.

Hence the phrase “buckle up!” in today’s headline: lots to offer, lots to do, and lots of ways to encounter Christ this fall!
