Welcome to Incarnate Word Parish!

Endowed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we the members of the Incarnate Word faith community dedicate ourselves in a spirit of mutual respect to live & proclaim the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. We are called to do this by reaching in to our parish family & reaching out to the universal Church and to the global community, by ministering to their spiritual, educational, social & material needs. We will do this by using our God-given gifts of time, talents, & treasures in an environment of collaborative ministry, in full harmony with the teachings & traditions of our Catholic faith.

Music Concert

Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 7pm, hornist Peter Ulffers, violinist Tova Braitberg and pianist Shen Wen will give a concert here at Incarnate Word Parish in the church. Shen will be premiering Music Director Joe Tyldesley's 19th Sonata for solo piano, a charming work in the classical style based on the theme to Bach's Goldberg Variations. Next Tova will join Shen in performing Beethoven's most popular sonata for violin and piano, nicknamed the "Spring" Sonata. This wonderful piece contains some of Beethoven's most brilliant writing, including the slightly sarcastic but ever funny scherzo--joke in Italian--in this movement the violin and piano seem to play out of sync. Finally the program will conclude with masterpiece Trio for horn, violin and piano by Johannes Brahms. As much of Brahms' music, this piece explores the extremes of human emotion ranging from heartbreaking melancholy to a type of manic euphoria.
