Holy Week

The holiest three days of the year are the Triduum (Latin for three days), which begins Holy Thursday evening and continues through the evening of Easter Sunday.  Throughout the centuries Christians have set these days aside as a time of prayer, special fasting and expectation.  Please join us in the celebration of the dying and rising of Christ.

World Famous Lenten Fish Fry Fridays
 

Come join us for the most popular fish fry in West County on Friday evenings from February 12-March 26 from 4:30pm-7:30pm in the lower Church hall. Fried Icelandic Cod or fried premium Butterfly Shrimp are available. Eat in, carry out or buy in bulk!

Help Needed!

THANK YOU for your tremendous response. The Wellston truck had to make four trips that day because of the overwhelming response of our parishioners!

 St. Augustine Wellston Center is an outreach committed to providing food and clothing to low-income families. St Augustine Parish embraces an aging, troubled section of St. Louis and St. Louis County. It is a high poverty, high crime area, characterized by disinvestment and blight. Wellston Center has empty shelves for the first time in years in the clothing and household goods section of their thrift store.  They need our help. Wellston Center will have their truck parked at Incarnate Word on SUNDAY, Feb. 28 from 9:00am-Noon. Please consider donating your gently used clothing or household goods.  All you have to do is bring your items to Incarnate Word that morning to their truck. You will get a charitable donation form right on the spot. Items especially needed include: gently used clothing of all sizes; costume jewelry; and household items like dishes, glassware, towels, linens, pans and framed pictures/prints.  Thank you!

 Lenten Speaker Series

Join us each Friday during Lent, as Incarnate Word Parish teams up with St. Joseph Radio to bring inspiring speakers from the St Louis area to Incarnate Word. Beginning February 19, 2010 and for 6 consecutive Fridays, the speakers will follow Stations of the Cross at 7:00pm in the Church. Please plan to attend the Fish Fry and then come on upstairs for the speaker.    Week of Guided Prayer

How about resolving to deepen your prayer life this year?  How about signing up for an exercise program that will focus on your spiritual life?  Pray on your own 30 minutes each day and meet one-on-one with a prayer guide 30 minutes each day for one week.  Afternoon and evening meeting times available.  Starts March 7 at 2:30pm with 90 minute meeting.  This is an individually directed retreat tailored to your own deep desires.  Prayer guides are not members of our parish, nor may companion anyone they know.  For more information, look for brochures in church or visit www.weekofguidedprayer.org.
